SPECIAL MASS / CELEBRATION / REFLECTION 30 YEARS OF ST. JUDE CATHOLIC WORKER SATURDAY AUGUST 29 @ ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH (612 E Park St, Champaign) Mass begins at 9am, followed by a light breakfast (9:45am). Frank Cordaro from the Des Moines, IA Catholic Worker will join us and give a history of the Catholic Worker Movement, and we’ll hear stories and reflections from the past 30 years. There will also be a time for envisioning the future. Breakfast and discussion will take place at the Oscar Romero parish center, located adjacent to the parish. Please join us in this time of celebration, reflection, and looking forward.

POTLUCK + ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION SATURDAY AUGUST 29 / 6PM @ 317 S. RANDOLPH Join us around the table for a community potluck (6pm) followed by a roundtable discussion (7pm) facilitated by Frank Cordaro of the Des Moines, IA Catholic Worker. The starting point for the discussion will be political resistance, its tradition within the Catholic Worker Movement, and how to create and sustain communities of resistance today. Bring some food, neighbors and friends, and join in a time of clarification of thought.

RANDOLPH A free showing of the film ‘Brazil’ (by Terry Gilliam), discussion, and more to be experienced live and in real time. This is a re-inauguration of a weekly discussion/book/film/idea night open to all interested with no strings attached. We’ll supply the popcorn.
